GET U SOME!

With Yarde’ Noir

Farewell

This has got to be one of the hardest things for me to write, but after almost 13 years of working with SWERV Magazine, my time here as Editor -At-Large has come to an end. The SWERV experience for me has been an opportunity of a lifetime. I have always said “I am a STORYTELLER, using different mediums to tell stories” and this platform has given me a chance to do just that. Like any journey, It has been a roller coaster of emotions. There were times things didn’t manifest as I envisioned and there were other times when things surpassed the vision I had in my head. Most of all it has been one of the most remarkable learning experiences of my life. I have learned so much about myself, my vision, my passion, my position as project leader and how to manage people with varied backgrounds and personalities. I am humbly grateful for the last 13 years.

I have always and still do believe in SWERV Magazine and its mission – to tell the stories of our community especially those not told on other media platforms. It has been the thing that has motivated me to lay all of my talents on the table. Through this vehicle, I have had the opportunity to serve as a Creative Director, Make Up Artist, Hair Stylist and Writer working with some of the most talented fashion/beauty professionals in the industry. I stood on this platform called SWERV as I painted the faces, twirled the tresses, and interviewed phenomenal and inspiring people in our community.

Every story has an end but in life every end is a new beginning. So what’s next for me? I will continue to have my column “Get U Some! with Yarde’ Noir” here in SWERV. I  have launched a production company, Get U Some Productions. Our goal is to entertain, educate and inspire. The first project from the company is Regally Ratchet …The Podcast hosted by eL Train & Yarde’ Noir. We are on five platforms Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Amazon Podcast and TuneIn. Follow, listen and become a royal. Also coming in 2021 Get U Some w Yarde’ Noir the talk show where I sit and talk, life, love, relationships and lessons with people who have inspired or influenced my life over the years. Lastly, I am investing more energy into photography and utilizing all of my gifts and talents to continue to build the Yarde’ Noir brand.

Thank you Jamil Fletcher, for recognizing my talent and offering me a platform to showcase what I do. I am forever grateful. To every reader and the many people that I have worked with over the years, THANK YOU!! Although this journey for me comes to a close, know that I love you, I love SWERV and am forever humbled to be a part of this legacy.

Officially signing off as Editor At Large for SWERV Magazine with love and respect,

Yarde’ Noir
